YouTube Bumper Ads Explained

Youtube Bumper Ads
Bumper Ads as defined by YouTube itself is a non-skippable video ad of up to 6 seconds that must be watched before your video can be viewed. I feel because of the ad only being 6 seconds long it can portray its message as the viewer wont feel frustrated that their time is being wasted watching the ad. The bumper ad may be used as a teaser for a longer video advertisement or like I mentioned just to portray a simple message so it is vital for a business to capture the viewers attention
Some Examples of Effective Bumper Ads include:
This first example of a bumper ad is from the movie Jason Bourne starring Matt Damon which was released in 2016. this snippet is very eye catching in my opinion as they use loud sounds, flashing images and show a scene of action which already gives the viewer an idea of the action and thriller involved in this movie. I also like the fact the ad conveys a tone of arrogance when they assume the viewer already knows who the character is and his backstory, “You know his name.”
This next example by Nissan is attention grabbing in so many ways as firstly their new shiny Nissan Terrano stands proudly in the center of this caption and the slogan portrays a simple but effective message with its “Powerful Presence”. However the most memorable feature of this ad is when the narrator in a more sensual tone says “Who’s your Daddy”, I found this very humorous and this bumper ad certainly grabbed mt attention.
The final example of an effective bumper ad is this Green tea advert featuring the cute teddy bear PG. This bumper Ad is largely contrasting to the two previous bumper ads that I explained as this is more simple and easier to grasp. What is so attention grabbing about this ad is the cuteness with the little slurp he makes when he drinks the tea. The message is so simple but effective about a delicious cup of green tea.
Reasons for bumper ads
bumper ads are very helpful for businesses and their marketers because in today’s climate people don’t want to be paying attention to a message that is not necessary to them for over 10 seconds. I feel like businesses are benefiting from bumper ads too because it portrays one simple message from a short clip than could remain in the viewers minds and when the time comes when that product/service, the business would have positioned themselves perfectly in the minds of the customer. An effective bumper ad will work if the short ad is eye catching and able to catch a viewers attention from either loud noises, flashing images, humorous content and etc.
In the short YouTube video below that is less than 90 seconds it perfectly explains the benefits of using bumper ads and i feel this video is very important for any marketers out there looking to improve their business.
